Look After Your Sluggers
Our Classics and Racerbacks are 100% polyester with no elastane — which means they're genuinely chlorine proof. Season after season in the harshest pool water and they'll hold their shape. Rinse them in cold water after each swim and hang them in the shade. That's it.
DEETEES — a little more care
DEETEES are made from a polyester and lycra blend — the best chlorine resistant fabric we could find. They'll hold their shape and colour well, but they need a bit more attention when it comes to washing.
Believe it or not, the pool isn't their biggest enemy. It's how you wash them.
The best option is a quick hand wash in the shower with natural soap. If you need to use the machine:
- Use a wash bag — a small string bag from the supermarket will protect them from snagging
- Check your detergent — avoid anything with chlorine bleach. Look for "delicate" on the label. If they're extra stinky, add a splash of vinegar to the fabric softener slot — but skip the actual fabric softener
- Cold or delicate cycle — keep it under 30 degrees
To dry, hang them in the shade. Direct sun will degrade the fabric faster than chlorine ever will.
Look after your DEETEES and they'll last more than a season in the pool and years everywhere else.
