Australia to Canada Duties and Taxes

WE SHIP DDP (DELIVERED DUTY PAID)

DDP means all import duties and taxes are paid up front, at checkout. Whatever you pay at checkout is the final amount for your order.

  • Nothing to pay when your parcel arrives. No bill from Canada Post or the courier, no customs fees at the door, no held parcel waiting on payment.
  • Your import duty, GST/HST/PST/QST and the Canada Post postal clearance fee are all covered in your checkout total.
  • We pay the Canadian authorities for you before your parcel leaves Australia.

Parcels shipped from Australia to Canada are subject to Canadian import duty and sales taxes. This applies to any parcel crossing the border, not just ours. Here's how it works, so there are no surprises at your door.

HOW IT'S CALCULATED

  • Import duty, which applies to swimwear entering Canada (currently about 11% of the item value)
  • Sales tax on the item plus duty: GST of 5%, plus your province's tax (HST in Ontario and the Atlantic provinces, PST in British Columbia, Saskatchewan and Manitoba, QST in Quebec). Rates depend on where you live.
  • Canada Post postal clearance fee of CAD 9.95 per parcel, charged by Canada Post for processing international parcels

HOW IT'S CHARGED

Duty and taxes are calculated for your specific order and shown at checkout. We use Zonos, a customs and duty specialist, to pay them on your behalf before your parcel leaves Australia. The Canada Post postal clearance fee is included in the shipping price shown at checkout.

Because everything is paid up front, you shouldn't be asked for anything further when your parcel arrives. No surprise bill at the door, no held package waiting on payment.

WHAT WE COVER

Zonos charges us a processing fee on every Canadian order. We don't add that as a separate line at checkout. It's built into our Canadian pricing, so the duty and tax you see at checkout are the duty and tax themselves.

Prices and shipping are shown in Canadian dollars at checkout. Shipping is priced in Australian dollars and converted, so the amount may vary slightly with the exchange rate.
